New Nano 8GB and 16GB - 4th Generation

Hailed as the 4th generation iPod Nano, the style of the new nano is a hybrid of the 2nd and 3rd generation models. The new nano for 2008 has retained the 2 inch screen that was introduced on the previous nano and built it into a case that is somewhat similar to the 2nd generation nano.

The case on the new nano is now much slimmer and has the usual curved lines associated with Apple products. A whole range of colours have been introduced for the new nano and are available in both the 8GB and 16GB nano models.

Apple takes one step back and a leap forward with the New Nano 4G

Apple have taken the precedented step to revert back to the original style similar to the Nano first introduced back in 2006. Gone is the squarer, heavier design 3rd generation model and the new nano now looks somewhat similar to the original. But Apple have not gone backwards in their approach to cutting edge design.

The case on the new iPod Nano is now a lot sleeker with smooth curved edges that compliment the range of new iPods that will appeal to the consumer looking for the latest style in a media player.

The new Nano range of iPods now feature the de facto Accelerometer technology that is seen in the Apple iPhone. This allows the user to turn the Nano 90 degrees and the screen will automatically flip to the proper orientation. The perfect solution for allowing easy scrolling of album lists and covers.

Apple Genius on the Nano

A revolutionary feature introduced this time round is the Apple Genius. This will make playlists on the fly as the new nano learns your musical tastes and preferences.
This is really handy if you have a music collection that runs into hundreds or even thousands of songs stored on the nano (you never know with the capacity available) and never get round to listening to them.

The intelligence of the Genius option will build a playlist based on your listening criteria and you will be presented with tunes you had probable forgotten were even on the Nano. So if you are the user who in the past have listened to the same play list over and over again in a continuous loop this new function will be a boon in discovering similar tunes that you may favour.

Added to this is the ability for the new Nano to make recommendations that may appeal to your musical tastes, that can then be downloaded via the iTunes store.

The above features are available on both the new 8GB Nano and the new 16GB Nano.
