The new Nano 8GB version of the popular iPod Nano music and media player hit the shops in September 2008.

An array of great innovative features await you upon purchase of the new nano 8GB iPod.
You can listen to all your favourite tracks on the Nano 8GB and make playlists in the same way that you could on previous incarnations of the iPod Nano. The difference now is the Nano now has the new Genius function built in.

Nano 8GB Genius Function

The Genius function is a clever bit of kit that will analyse the play lists that you compile and by using its inbuilt technology it will deliver new playlists based on your personal music tastes.

It will even pick out tunes that have similar beats to the music that you like. How clever is that. With the capacity to hold 2000 songs on the new 8GB Nano this means you can load it with hundreds of albums and the Genius function will over time select the tracks it thinks you will like.

As well as making up new playlists at the click of the button the Genius function of the new nano 8GB will also be able to suggest songs that you may be interested in that can purchased from the iTunes store in the usual way.

Nano Accelerometer

Another feature of the New Nano for 2008 is the accelerometer function. This allows the Nano to be turned and tilted which is great for changing the display orientation and it will also switch from Cover Flow mode to artist and album list mode.

Another great feature of the accelerometer function is "shake-n-shuffle". This allows you to give the Nano a quick shake and it will automatically change track. Great if you are caught up in a tight squeeze maybe whilst on public transport and need to change tracks on the quick.

Play Games on the New Nano

A selection of games including some classic arcade games are now available on the new Nano (and the previous 3rd generation Nano).

These games have been designed to take full advantage of the accelerometer function that is built into the new 4G Nano. The game will react as you move or tilt the Nano giving you a new gaming experience on the new Nano.
